Day 1 - Cultural Heritage
There is no better way to experience the culture and traditions of southern New Mexico than with a visit to some of Las Cruces and Old Mesilla’s unique attractions and events. Visitors can immerse themselves in the excitement of the Mexican-American culture as they stroll the streets of historic Old Mesilla, or attend annual events like The Whole Enchilada Fiesta, the Renaissance Craftfaire or Cowboy Days. Visitors can also honor the defenders of American freedom with a visit to the Bataan Death March Memorial, or Fort Selden State Monument.
Day 2 - Home Grown
Who would have thought agriculture could be this much fun! Visitors can tour Stahmann Farms, the world’s largest family owned pecan orchard, visit the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, sample unique New Mexico wine at one of our premier local wineries, or shop for handmade crafts and locally grown produce at the Farmers & Crafts Market.
Day 3 - The Arts
Tucked within the friendly streets of Las Cruces and historic Old Mesilla, local museums, galleries, studios and performing art venues provide visitors an opportunity to not only view the works of many great local artists, but also to learn about our history, culture and the diversity of our people.
Day 4- Surrounding Area
Just a short drive from Las Cruces, visitors can experience pure white gypsum dunes, ancient ruins and much more, making Las Cruces a perfect hub & spoke destination. To the east lies White Sands National Monument and Missile Range Museum; to the west, the Gila Cliff Dwellings, the former home of the Mogollon Indians and to the south you can find the international flavor of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Day 5 - Golf
Nestled in warm southern New Mexico, Las Cruces is home to exciting championship style golf at amateur prices, adding one more way to enjoy our 350 days of sunshine a year. Local courses take advantage of many desert characteristics, forcing golfers to steer clear of tricky desert brush and unforgiving desert rough. At almost 4,000 feet above sea level, golf balls travel farther, sometimes bringing into play unexpected obstacles that can require some creative shot making.
